Hello All,
I am looking in to CoreLink™ Network Interconnect NIC-301Revision: r2p3 manual to understand how we can get global programmer view for master or slaves. In manual i found "Global Programmers View (GPV) for the entire infrastructure that you can configure so that any master, or a discrete configuration slave interface, can access it. See Chapter 3Programmers Model."Can you please let me know where exactly in AMBA Designer GUI is the option of enabling GPV?Regards
Mahesh

Hi Mahesh,

The document of NIC-301 supplement to AMBA Designer user guide provides an example design in appendix A, where GPV has been involved in section A.8.

If you follow the section, you would get the idea to use GPV.

Hi Ct,
I got an idea on how to create GPV now. But my question which bothers me a lot is, where can i find the addresses of each master and slave being set in gpv? I had given the base address in the memory and validated the implementation. In the example stated by supplement guide, how do i know the start address of master 1, 2, 3, and slaves in the gpv? Which RTL file generated by AMDA Designer will have that information?

Regards
Mahesh

Hi Mahesh,

You don't need to check the RTL code for that address and configuration. The Figure 3-1 in the NIC-301 TRM would give you an idea how the master/slave are managed in the address map of the programmers model, and Table 3-1, 3-2, 3-3 followed would describe the detail configuration for ASIB/AMIB/IB in GPV.

Hope that helps,
Regards,

You can also track the addresses from the configuration window in AMBA Designer, by File -> Create Report, and find the information in the dumped html file. :)
