I'm trying to completely uninstall DS-5 to get back to a clean version of the platform database location. I've tried the standard Windows uninstall procedure, but when I opened DS-5 again after a reboot, my plug-ins were still listed and the platform database is still the same. Then I tried another uninstall, followed by deleting workspace directories, running CCleaner to delete anything in the registry and rebooting. Again, I opened DS-5 to find the platform database still had the changes I made before the uninstall. How do I fix this?

DS-5 stores user preferences in %APPDATA%\ARM\DS-5 on Windows (and on Linux in ~/.ds5). APPDATA is an environment variable whose value depends on your operating system. If you have a Windows Explorer open you can type the above into the address box to view that location. Otherwise you can open a command prompt and issue the set command to view all the environment variables and the value of APPDATA. On my Windows 7 system, APPDATA resolves to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming.

To clear out everything, just delete the contents of the DS-5 directory. If you specifically only want to clear our the configuration database, then try just deleting the DS-5\configdb directory and it will regenerate the next time you start Eclipse. If you do delete the entire DS-5 directory, be aware that you might want to make a copy of the DS-5\licenses directory, as this contains any product licenses that you have installed; you can either put this directory back afterwards or use the ARM License Manager accessible from Eclipse's Help menu to re-install your licenses.

To my knowledge, none of the tools within DS-5 writes to the registry, with the exception of the product installer.

If you are talking about the list of directories in Window > Preferences > DS-5 > Target Database, the list is stored in the workspace. There is a "Restore Defaults" button in the Preference pane.
