Hi all,

We have been testing quite a few Android devices (handsets and tablets) to find out if they let developers debug C/C++ code built with the Android NDK. Check out our list of native-unfiendly devices so far:

* Archos 101 (Froyo tablet)

* Motorola Defy (Froyo smartphone)

* Samsung Galaxy S (Froyo smartphone)

As it happens, it only failed for some Android 2.2 (Froyo) devices, but all newer devices tested (Gingerbread and Honeycomb) worked fine.

Are you aware of any other devices that do not enable native debug??

Thanks,

GM

Could you please also share which devices are friendly to DS-5?

Hi,

The reason we did not mention which devices are compatible with our debugger is because it works with all devices that are compatible with the standard gdb debugger in the NDK.

Just to mention a few that have been successfully tested: HTC Desire, Samsung galaxy S II, LG GSlate, ZTE Skate / Orange Monte Carlo... But I recommend you try yourself - the setup will just take you a few minutes and you will know straightaway whether it is enabled or not.
