JTAG debugger hardware for Real View SW Regarding the JTAG debugger hardware and front-end software compatibil Rate Topic: -----

Hello,

This is regarding the JTAG debugger hardware and front-end software compatibility.

I am working on a chipset with ARM11 core embedded in it and am using Real View Compilation Tools. I am planning to buy a JTAG debugger.
Now my question is whether **any** JTAG debugger hardware could be used with Real View Debugger software( or ** any other debugging SW **). I see all the JTAG HW signals are same like TDI,TDO,TCLK,TMS,TRST etc but will the front end debugging SW interact with JTAG HW with some industry standard messages/commands in which case I can use any hardware.
